Meet the Team

  • Structural Engineer

    Civil + Structural Engineer

Matt Stabbert is the founder and owner of Stabbert Engineering.

Born and raised in Seattle, Matt grew up exploring the Pacific Northwest, a place known for its stunning natural beauty as well as its awe-inspiring built environment. He was equally captivated by both. He got his feet wet — literally and figuratively — working his first jobs on commercial vessels in the marine industry. It was here that his fascination with the interplay of nature and human-made structures began. His entrepreneurial spirit also emerged early with the launch of his Seattle-area scuba diving business at just 14 years of age. Before opening Stabbert Engineering, he worked for multiple prominent firms in the Seattle area on some of their most significant engineering projects.

When he’s not solving problems for clients, he’s usually out spending time with his family in the great outdoors, rock climbing, backpacking, scuba diving, and boating. The Stabbert family also hits the ski slopes over 40 days every year and spends even more nights camping in their sprinter van.

  • Business Manager

Jhoan Stabbert is the managerial and administrative mastermind of Stabbert Engineering.

A West Coast dweller all her life, Jhoan was raised in Berkeley, California and made her way to Seattle after college. Growing up in a large family taught her how to juggle several tasks and wear many hats — a skill she draws on daily at Stabbert Engineering. As the firm’s General Manager, she handles everything from accounting to IT, providing the critical support that keeps the entire operation running smoothly.

When she’s not in jack-of-all-trades mode at the office, she’s making the most of Seattle’s thriving outdoor culture. She’s a fixture at the local farmer’s market, loading up on fresh seasonal produce and gathering inspiration for her own garden. When she’s in the mood for adventure, which is often, she enjoys traveling with her family, exploring national parks, and seeking out remote towns with cool outdoor activities.
